Bathroom HACKS!

Tips & tricks that YOU can do today to make your bathroom shine!

CLEAN YOUR SHOWER HEAD WITH VINEGAR

Vinegar is super handy for cleaning a wide range of things… and your shower head is one of them! If you’ve got a gunked up shower head to clean simply place a plastic bag of vinegar over the head of the shower and attach it with a sturdy elastic band. Walk away for an hour, come back, remove the bag of vinegar, quick polish and done.

PREVENT RUST

Metal aerosol cans and bottles are notorious for leaving nasty meal rings on your counter tops and shower shelves. Better Homes and Gardens recommends that you try painting clear nail varnish on the bottom of your cans/bottles to help prevent stains. 2nd hack- for cans/bottles with flat tops, turn them upside down to prevent stains.

USE DRYER SHEETS TO CLEAN SOAP SCUM

Don’t toss that used dryer sheet. Sprinkle it with a few drops of water, then use it to wipe away built-up soap residue on your shower doors. It works wonders on scummy surfaces. Dryer sheets contain ingredients that are designed to soften fabrics. Those same ingredients coincidentally soften soap scum, so it lifts right off the glass.

TRIM THE SHOWER CURTAIN

Where the shower liner hits the tub and where it ripples, as a result of being too wide, are breeding grounds for mold and mildew. One simple solution: trim a few inches from the bottom and sides so it fits the tub perfectly without bunching. A careful 2-minute trim could save you some money and hours in cleaning.

PUT A SHELF ABOVE THE DOOR

If you’ve got a tiny bathroom that lacks storage space, you know how hard it is to find a place to keep your towels. Make use of the space you do have by installing a shelf above the door for stacking towels (and if there’s any room left over, other bathroom supplies and toiletries).

AMPLIFY YOUR SMARTPHONE

Want to get better sound from your smartphone in your bathroom? All you have to do is grab any empty, clean, and dry paper cup and put your smartphone in it. It’s a simple trick that greatly amplifies the sound from your device. If you don’t have a paper cup, then you can try using a bowl instead. Or a coffee mug. Or a glass tumbler.
